Outside are two outbuildings, a barn and a carport with a tool room. A lawn, garden, pasture, landscaping and fruit trees adorn the property around the house. Access to a private seasonal airport is only two miles from the town of Halfway. Baker City private airport is 50 miles away.

The area's activities include snowmobiling, cross-country and other winter sports. Also enjoy boating on the three reservoirs on the Snake River.

Halfway has a local museum, restaurants and gas station. Also in town are a variety of grocery, hardware and sporting goods stores. There is even a great 4 lane bowling alley. Rodeos are held in July and September with the annual Lion's Club Crab Feed in March.
