Welcome to The Anglican Church of The Ascension

I invite you to come and learn more about us, especially to learn about our Lord, that you will worship with us, attend educational classes, take part in various outreach ministries and join us in fellowship

We have many activities at Church of the Ascension, we keep adding more as our church grows and matures in faith, hope, and love. As our Lord said, the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. We need you to come and worship and minister along side of us.

We believe the most important thing God is doing in the world is building and establishing the church, which is His community. Church of the Ascension is a community that places a strong emphasis on worship, and outreach to our local community and to the world, while responding to Christ's call to be a community of oneness (John 17). We strive to be an authentic biblical community, patterned after the New Testament Church, with values that are both ancient and modern, with roots based solidly on biblical truth.

Our church is a place of spiritual rest and refreshment, as well as a place to grow in the Lord Jesus.

Worship times and locations

 

Sunday: Traditional Said Mass: 8 AM

Contemporary Mass with music: 10 AM

Following the 10 AM Mass we have a Pot Luck lunch on the 1st Sunday each month.

Weekday activities

Wednesday: Choir practice, 10 AM

Thursday: Men's bible study at 7 PM

 

Add Holy Week Schedule

Wednesday April 8th, Tenebrea service at 7n PM;

Thursday April 9th, Mass at 7 PM followed by all night vigil; 

Friday April 10th, Good Service at 12 noon and Stations of the Cross at 7 PM;

Saturday April 11th The Great Easter Vigil, the first Mass of Easter

Sunday Easter Mass at 8 and 10 AM.

WHO WE ARE.

 

Church of the Ascension in Copperopolis, California is a mission in the Diocese of San Joaquin and, therefore, part of the Anglican Communion.

 

The Anglican Communion is a world-wide fellowship of churches within the

One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, in communion with the Arch-Bishop of Canterbury and thus with each other.

 

We are a community of the faithful within the larger Church.

 

For some this will be the first church they have ever attended, while others may have been involved in church since birth.
