Coaches: Recently there was some miss information on the Coerver Training program.
Here is the way to sign in. Go to www.playgreatsoccer.com
Click on “MEMBERS” at the top of the page, then scroll down to the “FLASH LIBRARY” and click on “CLICK HERE”.
Enter user name “library”, then enter password “soccer2006”
Put a check in the “SAVE PASSWORD” box, then click on “OK”
That should get you in. Just click on the 1st step “Ball Mastery” and have fun.

Coaches,
If you would like to order coaches shirts for the assistant coaches here is the info. The shirts are $25.00 each which covers the shirt and shipping. If you are interested please let me know the size. We will need to have the shirts paid for up front because the league does not have enough money to cover all the shirts. We are hoping for a great fundraiser this year. Keep your fingers crossed and don’t forget the turn in day of September 5th.

Not sure how to handle this one but it seems that we have had some miscommunication for the practices at the Vets Field. Any coaches that are currently practicing at the Vets Field must stop practicing there until you receive permission from Karen at the Vets Hall.
Karen was highly upset that we did not ask permission and they will not allow anymore practices their until you speak with her first. The field is not one of our normal practice areas but we have so many teams that we needed more space. I was not aware of all their procedures to practice on the field, but I do now.
I apologize for any problems this has/will cause you but please talk to Karen and sweet talk her a little to see if you can still practice on their field. Just blame it on me.

Coaches,
There seems to be a little confusion or misunderstanding on the temporary rosters. Let me try to help clarify.
There was not enough time to get the permanent rosters into the computer before the coaches meeting. The reason we handed out temporary rosters was so that the coaches could start to get their teams organized and contact their kids. The permanent rosters will more than likely not change except maybe if a parent requests that their child be moved to another team.
It’s ok to start practices on the 1st of August even if a child is going to be moved later. The only thing I would hold off on is ordering your banners. If you are not going to put the kids names on the banner go ahead and order it, otherwise I would wait for the permanent roster to make sure you are set.
Wendy is working on the permanent rosters and hopefully they will be done as soon as possible.

I heard a couple of rumors about early practices so I just want to remind all the coaches that due to league rules, we are unable to start practices prior to August 1st. Please try to comply with this league rule.

Hello fellow coaches,
First of all, the uniforms are in…… yeah. You can pick them up at Jon Contreras’ house tonight 7/24 between 6:30pm & 8:00pm and tomorrow 7/25 between 4:00pm to 8:00pm. His address is 2287 Grouse. Take Vista Del Ago off of Hwy 26 to Grouse and turn right.
As a reminder to a couple of the rules and to answer some questions:
The by-laws state "Slide tackling or slide kicking shall not be allowed for U6, U8, U10, and U12."
There are no penalty kicks for U6 and U8.
All free kicks shall be indirect kicks for U6 and U8.
Direct kicks shall be reserved for U10 and older.
There are no offside’s for the U6 & U8 teams.v
U6 teams do not have goalies and do not have throw ins.
Slide tackling is ONLY permitted for the U15 teams. I would encourage you to tell your kids to be careful, especially when a 14 year old boy is going up against a 12 year old girl. We do not want kids with broken legs or ankles and it will happen if it is not done correctly. If you can show the kids the proper way to slide tackle and explain the rules and the consequences it would be great, otherwise I would not even promote it.
If the kids do slide tackle and they do not hit the ball first, the referee will RED card them and they will be asked to leave the field . Enough of that……
As a reminder, Opening day and Pictures are Saturday August 16th at 10:00am. It will be at either Toyon Middle School or Calaveras High School. We are not sure yet and I will notify you as soon as I can. Don’t forget your banners.

Hello coaches,
We finally have a list of coaches now that all the kids forms are in. If you were wondering how we picked the coaches for the teams it was based on a first come -first serve basis. I received a lot of coaches applications this year and it was the only fair way to do it. I hope no one is offended. We all appreciate you trying to help with the kids.
I know that there were a lot of applications for assistant coach and I think there will be some teams that I know could use your help.
The draft for the Under 10’s & Under 12’s is going to be this Saturday at 5:00pm @ Round Table Pizza in Valley Springs. We will do the U10’s at 5:00pm and the U12’s at 5:30pm. Hopefully all the coaches for this age group will attend. If you are un-able to come please send someone in your place or we will have to pick the team for you.
The Mandatory coaches meeting and equipment hand out is still set for Saturday the 19th at Toyon Middle School in the quad area @ 10:00am.
At the meeting I will be signing everyone up for practice times/fields so get to me as soon as possible. I will try to be at the meeting a little early to get you in the books.
If everyone could please send me a response email that you received this letter I would appreciate it so I can get you checked off and I know who I need to call.

Hello fellow coaches,
I am sending this out to let everyone know that soccer is approaching quickly. I have received many of this years Coaches Forms and I’m sure there will be more to come.
If you can get the forms to me or to your area coordinator as soon as possible it would help to move things along smoothly. If you need a form, I have some with me at home. Please include what age group/area you want to coach.
The CYSL League is hosting an “F” Clinic this year. The dates are July 11th & 12th. Friday will be in the evening for a couple of hours and Saturday will be out on the field for about 6 to 8 hours. I highly recommend this class for all coaches. There is a lot of great information to be learned to help teach your kids the great game of soccer and you get your license for FREE.
Please let me know ASAP so I can get you on the list because space is limited. Hope to see you there.
