The goal was to make the site less cluttered, easier to navigate, more friendly for users who connect with dial up modems, and still keep the same level of information available. You may or may not be aware but in most cases web pages are simply plain old ordinary text (don't believe me, right mouse click anywhere on this page and select "view source", or "view page source". All that text made this web page.). Your browser is designed to interpret the text and render everything you see right there, locally, on your PC. Images and some fancy features must typically be downloaded, this takes extra time and can slow things way down. As a result large images and many fancy features have been kept to a minimum to speed up the web site. Fancy features used on the site, like the scrolling banner above, are those already built into your browser. The images available are all very small and give you the option to download larger versions if you choose. The sections of the site have been redesigned as individual web pages which are accessed by clicking on the links listed to the left. Hopefully this will make the web site more functional.
